Being a home worker, I’ve struggled in the past with remembering the importance of taking time away from the desk, I was lucky enough that in a previous organisation they launched an initiative similar to our Ventr-illion Steps challenge.

When I first got involved, it was more about the raising of funds which was super important, but over time I started to see some other benefits. I love music and would put some on while out for a walk, I became the dogs best friend as he was always out with me, and overall I had more energy.

Being honest I’ve fallen out of the good habits I had built and I’m excited about getting involved to kick-start them again. I’d love to see as many of our Ventricans as possible take up the challenge, and hear how you are getting on!

Fundraising has always been something I have been passionate about and The King's Trust is no exception. As someone who has had a challenging upbringing and struggled as a result of this, I feel that this charity is one that is close to my heart. Being able to help vulnerable young people while also focusing on my own health is a win win!

My fundraising has enabled me to explore many causes around the globe and learn about ways we can come together to make the world a better place to live in. While it may not impact me directly, it can be just as much of an achievement to take part in something that really makes a difference.

My most recent charity event was a fun run in aid of cancer research, it was pretty muddy but a fun challenge. It was tough to complete but it brought me closer to my friends as we crossed the finish line together. It also enabled me to make new bonds with people I may not have met had I not gotten involved, all while getting a bit messy in support of cancer research.

I will be taking part in The Ventr-illion steps and I hope you will join me!

I was first introduced to the Million Makers program back in 2015, I was impressed then and in the intervening years it has just got better and better every year. Making it so much more beneficial for people to take part, raising more funds along the way.

I’ve been lucky enough to be a very small part of the Ventr-illion Makers journey over the last couple of months and it is incredible to see just how far they have all come.

You can support the Ventr-illion Makers by taking part in The Ventr-illion Steps. Any support you can bring, big or small will make a difference.

If you want to be a part of something fun, that will change lives then do sign up.
